With a population of approximately 2.7 million inhabitants, Toronto is Canada's most populated city. It is situated in the province of Ontario, on the northern side of Lake Ontario. Toronto is a significant economic, banking, technological, and cultural hub. It is the home of the Toronto Stock Exchange, five of Canada's top banks, and numerous large Canadian and foreign firms. Toronto is also a significant arts and culture hub, with numerous museums, theatres, and galleries. The city also has a variety of professional sports teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs (ice hockey), Raptors (basketball), and Blue Jays (baseball). Toronto is famous for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, particularly the CN Tower, which is the largest free-standing structure on land outside of Asia. The city also has some parks and green spaces, including High Park, Toronto's largest park.
